How to Convert Oven Recipes to Air Fryer
Converting your favorite oven recipes for an air fryer is simpler than you think. Because air fryers use powerful convection fans to circulate heat, they cook food much faster and more efficiently than a standard oven.
The 25/20 Rule
As a general guideline, reduce the oven temperature by 25°F (15°C) and the cooking time by 20%. For example, if a recipe calls for 400°F for 20 minutes, try 375°F for 16 minutes in your air fryer.
Check Early and Often
Air fryers vary by brand. Always check your food about 2-3 minutes before the calculated time. Use our brand-specific calibration to get closer estimates for popular models like Ninja, Cosori, and Philips.
Don't Overcrowd
For the best results, leave space between food items. Air needs to circulate around all sides to create that perfect crispy texture. If you're cooking a large batch, it's better to cook in two rounds than one crowded one.
